For the first time ever I attempted to make soap. It isn't pretty because I used Pyrex baking pans and not soap molds. More than soap it became hope on a rope (minus the rope - ha ha). Might sound a bit crazy but the whole process was spiritually and emotionally cleansing. I was able to put my heart and soul into it, as it helped me to be more present.
While I gave the soaps time to cure, it gave me something to look forward to, too. Not in a I can't wait kind of way but in a what phase is it in today kind of way. It reminded me of processing B&W film, not quite knowing what would develop. The outcome of my soaps, like I said, look funny but the end result is beautiful. I have to thank SacredSuds for inspiring me. Reading her story on Jewels of Saraswati's blog helped give me a great gift. The gift of understanding how sacred suds can be.
That is a beautiful block of soap! I think it may be the loveliest I've ever seen. Go Pyrex! No need to use molds when you can create something that looks like maple fudge (at least, that's what it reminds me of!).
ReplyDeleteyum!
And it's wonderful that the process of making the soap was a study in spiritual growth. Kudos!
You are beautiful!
