It All Started With

It all started with a tiny bit of fresh apple juice, plenty of water, a lump of frozen bananas, one juiced lime, 1 T of hemp seeds and a ton of spinach. It ended with a semi green nosed boy sporting a very green mustache.

It is these moments I value. I do a lot of things wrong in the food department. Green smoothies is not one of them. I feel good that I get several different combo of veggies and fruits into their diets - all while giggling. Got Milk? Nah. But we sure do got Green Smoothie....all over our faces. Yum!

As Simple As This

Sometimes

Sometimes all you can do is breathe and look up. These past six months have brought more losses than I care to count (big and small and in between ones) but also gains. From where I am standing it is still rather hazy what the Universe wants me to learn. But my eyes, mind and heart are opening back up. That is saying a lot, considering I've been in survival mode for what seems forever. Walls up. Smile guarded. Joy to a complete halt.

Today, I stood outside and smiled as I reached up to the sky. I might not reach my goals in this lifetime but I promise to keep reaching. Even if it is simply to scratch someone's back.

In My Kitchen

Even with life as it is, filled full of intense change, I am finding time to feed my soul and body. A few days ago I made a raw slaw, with raw cashew cream (mayo). I also marinaded several vegetables. I have them stored in my vintage kitchen containers, of which I love!

Here is a taste of what I prepared:

Cashew cream/mayo makings! Mmmm!

My fresh broccoli, carrot and cabbage raw slaw.

The joy of mess!

Mushrooms, carrots, and baby bell peppers marinaded in Nama Shoyu, olive oil, lemon, garlic and love.

Nature's candy!

Lemons have so many wonderful benefits. Tasting good is my favorite!

A colander my father made - something I treasure because of the heart imprinted in it.

Sometimes I forget to reach for the most basic of joys. Being in the kitchen, both a love hate relationship, is always made better with fun vintage wares, heart and love. Enjoying the simplest of pleasures is what makes life worth living. Oh, and don't forget the lemons!

Sea Salt Soap

I attempted my first ever sea salt soap. Time will tell if it works. I made it up as I went. Now, to decide on what kind to make next! It really is all too much fun. And the nice thing is, I *TRY* to send samples of my soaps, when I can squeeze one in, as a thank you for purchasing from my Etsy shop. If I can't fit it in, I always try to put some little goody in. :-)

Abstractions of HeART

This is one way I view the world around me; abstracted and segmented. I don't know why I do. I just do. For some reason, my eyes are always drawn to the forgotten and semi-invisible. The less than 'beautiful'. I see living paintings everyday, all around me. Maybe, it's because that is the way I view myself.

F is for

.....FEAR of FAILURE.

Last night I listed four of my most recent abstract images in my Etsy shop. I was proud of myself for fighting my fears. But, when I woke up this morning, fear won out and I placed them in the inactive folder. While fear won this round, I'm proud of myself for even trying. Even if the trying only lasted less than 24 hours. It's a step. And a step FORWARD is a step FORWARD.
